The Cognac sector welcomes in its region three of the ten American bartenders who won the Cognac Connection Challenge 2022. Between unforgettable experiences and wonders, they will visit during their stay houses and producers to appreciate the diversity of Cognac.
As part of its campaign to promote the Cognac geographical indication in the United States, the Cognac appellation has created a 100% digital cocktail competition in 2020 to promote American bartenders. Named “Cognac Connection”, this competition gave the opportunity to bar professionals to share their know-how and their Cognac knowledge by proposing on social networks recipes of cocktails with Cognac.
From December 4 to 9, three of the ten American bartenders who won the Cognac Connection Challenge 2022 will arrive in the region to (re)discover Cognac and its terroir.
Grant Jacobs – Los Angeles, CA.
Head bartender at Genever in Los Angeles, he is an amateur baker and a great lover of beer and spirits.
John Ware – New York, NY
John can be found behind the bar at Forsythia, an Italian restaurant on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, working on the fusion of two of his greatest passions: cocktails, Italian spirits and drinking culture.
Sarah Troxell – Galveston, TX
She has been working in the hotel industry for 16 years. She fell in love with craft bartending and started doing it professionally about 8 years ago. She is also one of the winners of the Speed Rack competition.
Lynnette Marrero, the competition’s juror, will accompany the group.
She is the co-founder of the world’s first all-female speed bartending competition, Speed Rack, the partner of the Cognac Connection Challenge.
